Current Featured Artist Exhibition: T.S. Lamb – A World of Whimsy

In a world where so much is happening all the time and we spend so much energy “adulting” a little whimsy is much needed.
 
“So often we create magic and whimsy for children, but as we grow it’s easy to lose that magic. We’re told there’s no space for it, that it’s too childish. My art is here to put some of that enchantment back into the world.  Here you might see a dinosaur having tea, or a frog on a bike waiting for you to join them. So welcome to my world of whimsy and wonder, I hope you take some whimsy and a smile with you when you go.”

Upcoming Artist Exhibition: Sophia Hanifi – Solo Exhibition

Sophia Hanifi is an artist and educator living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She studied art at The University of Michigan, where she received her BA in fine art. 

“My art making with collage reflects my love of surrealism. In my work I use paper doll elements combined with vintage and new papers, colored pencil and other drawing materials. I enjoy the process collage entails; choosing materials by texture, color and image and finding combinations that achieve resonance. Many of these pieces explore the theme of feminine agency. By using the juxtaposition of time period, social status and race I hope to create images that challenge traditional female stereotypes.”
